Salomea Nowak (age 80), born in Wielowieś on November 14, 1869

The foundress of the Dominican Sisters and, at the same time, the foundress of the convent in Wielowieś, Mother Columba Białecka, I remember very well particularly as a caregiver to the poor and the sick. She was respected and loved by all. She engaged in teaching the catechism to the older youth and children. Countess Tarnowska often visited her bringing garments for the poor. But it was Mother Columba who personally distributed them. Therefore, when we caught sight of the carriage with the Countess heading towards the convent, we used to drop our activities and ran to the convent gate.

She was buried in the convent garden nearby the chapel. It was the farmers who carried her to the resting place.
